Mavis Simpson-Ernst is a twenty-two-year-old actor, model, and musician based in New York City. Mavis has been performing since the age of eight, making her Broadway debut at age nine in EVITA. Some of her notable credits include: The Americans on FX, Broad City on Comedy Central, POWER on Starz, the national tour of Les Misérables, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown at the York Theatre, and various feature films including Yes starring Modern Family’s Nolan Gould.

Mavis is a graduate of Columbia University where she completed her BA in English with a thesis project in Visual Arts. Throughout her academic career, Mavis completed internships at the Brooklyn Museum, Anthology Editions — an independent artbook publisher and imprint of Mexican Summer Records, Perfectly Imperfect Newsletter, and Artbook | D.A.P. (Distributed Art Publishers)

She is currently working at Aperture as a Development Work Scholar.

As a multimedia artist, Mavis has hand-crafted books, video works, collages, and paintings — often blending mediums in her pieces. Beyond her studio practice, Mavis has worked as the bassist and vocalist on multiple music projects.
