​Mavis Simpson-Ernst is a nineteen-year-old actress, singer, musician, dancer and model. She started taking ballet at age 2 and has been performing ever since. At age 9, Mavis was thrilled to make her Broadway debut in EVITA at the Marquis Theater. She loved performing in EVITA and feels incredibly lucky to have worked with such a talented cast and creative team. Before EVITA, after her first professional audition at age 8, Mavis went on tour with Les Misérables and performed in 22 cities across the United States.  The story and songs of Les Misérables will always have a very special place in her heart.  ​In the Summer of 2014, Mavis had the amazing experience of performing the lead role of Marina in the world premiere of the opera AZAIO in Italy. Mavis reprised her role as Marina in AZAIO last Fall in Philadelphia. Mavis continues to regularly perform in Off-Broadway theater productions and Equity Showcases, including the lead role Lucy in the Off-Broadway run of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown at the York Theatre. Most recently, Mavis performed the lead role of Alice in Alice In Wonderland at the esteemed 54 Below.

​In addition to theater, Mavis has blossomed as a young screen actress. She is thrilled to be playing the role of Aggie Caden in the upcoming feature film Yes starring Modern Family’s Nolan Gould and Tim Realbuto, directed by Rob Margolies. On the small screen, Mavis recently played the role of Chris on the award winning television drama The Americans on FX.  Showing her natural comedic talent, Mavis played the role of Young Abbi Jacobson from Comedy Central’s hit show Broad City in a short for the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler movie Sisters. Mavis also played the role Young Abbi in the recent season of Broad City airing on Comedy Central. Other noteworthy television credits include: POWER, Suzie Spencer (Co-Star) on Starz television network; Brain Games, Daughter (Co-Star) National Geographic Channel; Good Morning America, The Late Show with David Letterman and the Nickelodeon HALO Awards. Mavis was also cast by Project Runway and American Girl Doll in a Guest Starring role as a Model for a very special American Girl Doll episode of Project Runway on Lifetime television.  Mavis has worked on some interesting, challenging film projects that have helped her develop strong on-camera skills including the following independent feature and independent short films: 5 Doctors, Jingle Boys, The Grand March, A Scientist’s Guide to Living and Dying, Little Miss Perfect and The Prayer.
 
Mavis feels extremely lucky to have had so many wonderful opportunities and is excited about pursuing new challenges in film and television, as well as theater.  She also does voiceover, commercial and modeling work and has performed live in various events including singing during the Knicks Halftime Show at Madison Square Garden on two separate occasions.  When she is not working, Mavis enjoys being with her family, playing her guitar, hanging out with friends, skate boarding, playing her ukulele, vintage clothes shopping, and snuggling with her dog Lacie.
